Driving down to the Navy Stadium the roads were already getting bad. We weren't expecting any more than just a flurry to maybe an inch... this wasn't looking too good!
Yes... lots of snow the closer we got! Even the edges of the water were frozen. What are we getting ourselves into??
Bumper to bumper traffic and lots of snow. We also passed three accidents on the way but we have already come this far. We can't turn back now!
Denise and I finally parked.. Phew! Off to the shuttle!
We are women... Hear us ROAR!!!
We made it to Plunge-A-Palooza! So, the sign says this will be good for me and why would the sign lie?!
Inside the Ram's Head Ice House during the Kelly Bell Band.
Denise and I trying to get ready for this we're-going-to-jump-in-the-water-in-the-snow thing.
Striping down and getting ready to jump.
FYI... Snow flakes on your bare back are really chilly!!! Oh, and snow on the sand is still just as cold!
Me and Random Speedo Guy, he is big, in a Speedo, and it is snowing, that is some funny stuff! ... I love the fact that there is a woman in a full length fur coat (w/ matching had) right behind me!
Denise plunging!!
WAY TO GO D!!!
Here I go... I went in up to my chin! And in case you were wondering (and couldn't tell by my face) that is some cold, cold water!!!
The main stage as they were canceling the 3pm plunge because of the storm and extreme temps. I heard of 3 people being taken away on stretchers at the end of our plunge.
We did it... this was where we ran in like fools!!
Yay us!!
Hey look... That's Joe Flacco running up the beach after his plunge! Way to go Joe!
Lunch time!
Denise and I waiting for the bus... it was an hour wait for the shuttle in the snow. Brrrr! But it is quite a small world, we were standing right behind an old friend of mine from grade school. What a small world!!
More snow on the way home!
The lovely shuttles!
Snow angels after we cleaned off the car in the parking lot.
We did it and now we just have to make it home. We are smiling because we don't realize yet that we still won't get home for another 3+ hours!
Snow angles and jumping in the bay in my swim suit all in one day... Who would have guessed??
Thanks again to everyone for your pledges, support, and encouragement... Your generosity has been humbling and together we raised $765! I can't wait till next year!
