Mother's Day Weekend

Saturday at the Catoctin Zoo north of Frederick, MD with the Millers. It was a beautiful day and fantastic company... I don't know if I could ask for a better Saturday!
Monkeys!!
Hanging at the zoo with our buddies!
Ell checking out the swans.
That Alex is one happy little boy!!
Ell wanted her picture by the wallaby sign... Bennett's Wallaby.
Genny and Ell feeding the fish.
It's tortoise time!
Ell and Genny by the Koi pond.
Making fish faces! They are some silly, silly girls!
Ellie in the trees.
Climbing on the lion.
Carey and I.
Me and my little clown!
Please read the disclaimer carefully because behind it is the lion exhibit enclosed in what looks like only a chain link fence and I think it was electrified, but still that really isn't very reassuring.
Oh, and here is the lion! Lucky for us she seemed rather sedated or lazy, whatever! And definitely not hungry... PHEW!
Genny and Ell checking her out.
Camel rides on Miranda the Camel. She sure was a noisy girl!
Ell sure had a good time!
If you know then I don't have to explain but I do love that Genny is peeking around the corner with a curious look.
Alligators... We nearly witnessed a National Geographic style death scene right in front of the girls between a gator and a turtle. The girls started squealing and we never did see that turtle resurface. Carey reassured the girls that he was hiding in the mud! I hope he really was!!
The girls were climbing on anything they could get their hands on!
3-toed sloth!
Here was a sign at the snack bar... Again, hmm...
Blowin' dandelion seeds.
Next stop, downtown Frederick, for dinner and window shopping.
I have heard of a milk mustache but Ell managed to take it to a whole new level... Chocolate ice cream 'stache and goatee!
Showing me her watercolor butterfly.
"What? I have a chip on my head? I guess it is better there than on my shoulder!"
Ellie just kills me with her silly sense of humor!
Ell in Frederick, MD at the end of our day and what a fantastic day it was!
This is more of a hmmm.... than anything!
