This month has been a whirlwind! Last night as I was putting Ellie to bed she was reminding me that the next day was her birthday and my job was to make sure that everyone says "Happy Birthday" to her the next day. It was then that I realized that, WOW, October is 2/3 over... Time flies when you are having fun!
Anyway, I know I am posting this on Ellie's birthday but this isn't the official "Birthday post" this is just to catch you up on everything up to this morning! Sorry in advance that these are in reverse order!
Monday morning... Ellie is 4 today!!
Sunday...
Sunday afternoon we went to the Slowik's house for a play date... Ellie sure likes playing with the big ball!
MB, Kiley, and Ms Beth in Kiley's new playroom.
Ms Beth and Kiley... Go Ravens!!
(Ok, maybe this week wasn't our week... Next week, I can feel it!)

Ellie and I wit post walk hugs... Yay, we did it! Now, lets go home and get warm!!!
Ellie caught taking her post walk pee-pee.
So many people showed up despite the rain and cold!
Way to go!!
The start of the walk... About two minutes later Ellie told me just how cold she was and that she wanted to go home and take a warm bath. We only did the 1 mile instead of the 5K but hey, we still did it!!!
Our walking buddies.
Ellie and I before the walk. It was 36.5 degrees when we left the house and it was raining. When we got to the walk site (only about 10 minutes north) there was slush in the grass where it had sowed and a car parked not far away covered in snow. Ellie was bundled up: Soccer socks, leg warmers, warm up pants, an undershirt, a long sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt, her race shirt, and her winter coat. Then 2 fleece blankets wrapped around her.
Saturday...
We went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs... what else do you do on a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon?
Soup and fried rice at Wegman's for lunch that Ellie insisted on calling dinner... What a silly girl!
Slurping noodles.
Monday evening...
Ellie and I met up with Rachel and the Wigging's before they departed for a new adventure... Germany! Good luck!
Ellie and Allie
Sunday, October 11...
Ellie hosting one of her fabulous tea parties with only the finest guests in attendance!
This is a good time to tell you one of her latest...
On our way home from church Ellie was talking about boo-boos in the back seat and this is how the rest of the conversation went...
E: "And I'm going to have boo-boos on my belly, and my cheek, and my other cheek, and..."
MB: "Ell, is your butt broken?"
E: "My butt broken?"
MB: "Yes, is your butt broken?"
E: Slightly confused look
MB: "Well, you have a crack in it!" And without missing a beat...
E: "Look Mommy..."
MB: I look in the rear view mirror and see her dress pulled up and panties pulled to the side.
E: "I've got a crack in my gina too!" and Ellie grinning ear to ear!
OK kiddo, you got me and yes I deserved that! :)
This is the box that Ellie mad for me for my birthday... Isn't it beautiful? I love it!
MB, Ellie, and my box.
Ellie helping me open my gift... And what a wonderful gift!!
Saturday...
We went to Party in the Park, an all day festival benefiting the Nikki Perlow Foundation. There was a magician, vendors, multiple moon bounces, food, and live music.
Ellie's first taste of the sweet stuff.
Ellie helping to clean up the "sunshine".
Ellie listening to Milkshake, a nationally known children's music group. She recognized their songs from Noggin and Sprout.
Taking a break and enjoying the day.
After they were done singing we bought a CD for the car and Ellie even got it signed! I think I may be creating a groupie!
After lunch... we shared a gyro and french fries. Yum!!
Down, down, down the bouncy slide!
Another story...
This morning Ellie and I were laying in bed cuddling before starting our day and we were talking about birthdays. This is what followed...
MB: "Ell, do you know who's birthday was yesterday?"
Ell: "Who's?"
MB: "Uncle Larry"
Ell: No response
MB: "Do you remember Uncle Larry?"
Ell: Shakes her head no
MB: "Do you remember Aunt Donna?"
Ell: She nods. "Yes"
MB: "Well, Uncle Larry is Aunt Donna's husband and they live in Georgia."
Ell: Leans over and whispers in my ear, "He's got no hair."
MB: Smiling. "Ell, that's right. You do remember him."
Saturday evening (pictures thanks to Meme and Papoo) I went to dinner with a friend and while I was away there was quite a production! Meme, Ellie, and Papoo worked on my Treasure box.
Ellie and Papoo painting it pink.
And sharing stories while they work!
And making sure that there aren't any globs of paint. I am told that she did it all almost totally by herself... What a big girl! I am so very proud!
Wednesday...
The bottomless pit.
Ellie was a little hungry (yes I feed her, this is growth spurt kind of hungry) and asked for this for dinner. This is 2 kid's breakfasts: A mouse pancake, bacon, 1 scrambled egg, potatoes, toast, chocolate milk, and for good measure she stole some of my french fries. She ate about 3/4s of all of this too! Amazing!
