As this winter has drug on I have noticed that there are so many reasons why I am running late. Here are just a few... Snow, school delays, forgot to set the alarm, because Ellie had to go potty in the middle of the night, I have to go back home because I left my phone hooked up to the charger, snow, because I was up in the middle of the night (or just late) doing laundry from Ellie throwing up all over her bed, someone kept me awake grinding her teeth, its Monday or Friday or the morning, just couldn't wake up, snow, I forgot to put lunches together the night before, traffic, trying to get a sleepy Ell moving in the morning, and have I mentioned snow yet? Anyway, that is just a few! I have actually come to accept that I will, for at least the next 15 years of my life, probably run, at the minimum, 10 minutes late for everything. But I never in a million years would have guessed that I would be running late in the morning for this...
This past Monday morning was like most any Monday morning... Way to early to start the week. Ellie and I were going through the routine: Aurthur cartoons, cereal and juice, shower, brush teeth, everyone gets dressed, etc. While I am trying to get lunches put together Ellie wanders up to me and says, in a very serious tone, "Mommy, Princess Aurora needs to go into time out. She was hitting and biting Baby Uncle Bob." Not only was she put in time out but then she needed a talking to by Ellie and by myself, a whole process that took at least 15 minutes. And that was why I was late... We were having some disciplinary issues with Princess Aurora.
