Mid September fun...

We had a huge weekend... It all started on Friday night with an 80s dance party (just Ell, Schatzie, and I) that ended in an injured hand. Ell went for another hand stand and flipped all the way over and I think she strained her hand. She is ok and is quite a trooper (along with being a drama queen) and after ice, ibprophen, and tlc were administered she seemed to be doing much better. Below is a video of her moves... Watch out, she is a dancin' machine!!
Saturday she packed in quite a breakfast... Pancakes, bacon, toast, potatoes, and scrambled eggs. I had a HPU alumni event in the afternoon then we went to celebrate Ms. Cathy's (another) 30th birthday.
Sunday we headed down to Silver Spring for brunch with Michele and her friend. Once we got home we finally were able to kick our heals back and relax... at least for a bit!

Labor Day, etc.

This is how Ell went to school... Flip flops, cowgirl outfit, berry tank top, kitty cat mask, and doctor kit... It's called choosing your battles!!

Saturday evening we spent with Joelle, Cathy, and their neighbors. Here the girls are releasing tadpoles into Cathy's backyard pond.

End of season harvest... The green beans finally beaned and we have a few remaining tomatoes... Looks like summer is almost over.

Outdoor movie night last weekend up in the clubhouse. "Annie" on the screen and dinner under the stars.
Cold day! Cold day! Cold day!!! I had to break down and go to Khol's and get Ell some fall shoes and a couple of long sleeved shirts!
Ell learned to give 'whiffenschnoffers"... Thanks Papoo for that lesson!

Nursery Rhymes

Ell came home from school today talking all about her rhymes. You see, they have been learning nursery rhymes for the past two weeks. Well, today's was Little Miss Muffet. Proudly, Ell sat in her seat in the back of the car and recited it to me...

Sat on a puffin
Eating her porridge and duffett
Along came a spider
And sat next to her
And she got scared and ran away!
